Amenity refers to the quality of something that is filled with gentleness and charm. In the notion of urban amenities, this definition is associated with natural spaces in the city that have a setting and climate perceived as pleasant. My diploma project is thus to identify amenities in public spaces and then define intervention methods (designing light devices or any form of light intervention) to activate these places and promote activities related to everyday pleasures (resting in the shade, reading, meditation, picnicking on the grass, dipping feet in the water to cool off, etc.).
