Student Mobility

Study Abroad and Internship

ENSAD Dijon promotes mobility by encouraging students to spend time abroad as part of their studies. This can take the form of a semester at a partner school or a professional internship, which may also be completed in France. These opportunities are integrated into the curriculum and are designed to provide students with international experience or professional engagement, enriching their academic and personal growth.

During the first semester of the fourth year, all ENSAD Dijon students are required to either spend a semester at a partner school or university abroad or complete an internship at a company or organization in France or abroad.

→ Study semesters take place at one of ENSAD Dijon’s 50 partner schools.

→ Internships are carried out within companies or organizations, such as museums, galleries, or artist studios, in line with the student’s project. A contract between the host organization, the student, and ENSAD Dijon is mandatory, followed by a written internship report.

Financial Support

Erasmus+ Scholarship (Semester in the EU): ~€250/month
Dynastage and Aquisis Scholarships (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region): ~€250/month
ENSAD Scholarship (Semester outside the EU): ~€500
→ Ministry of Culture International Mobility Grant (for students receiving social criteria grants): ~€400/month depending on the country and project.

Students who receive the CROUS social criteria grant continue to receive it even while studying abroad.

Mobility Committee

Third-year students are required to present their mobility project to a mobility committee, which evaluates its coherence. This committee typically consists of the coordinating professor, the director of studies and international affairs, and a language professor.

Each student is required to present their mobility project to the committee, regardless of the type of project. This session is not graded and doesn’t result in credits. Students have 15 minutes to present their study abroad or internship project (either in France or abroad).

They must submit a dossier, written in both French and English, consisting of:

→ A project presentation and motivation (1 page)
→ A portfolio of their work (about 10 pages) ;
→ A CV (about1 page).

The committee evaluates the project and decides on its approval, including mobility grants such as Erasmus+.

Additionally, ENSAD Dijon reminds students about language proficiency, as many foreign institutions require at least a B2 level in the local language. For English-speaking countries, this level must be proven through recognized language tests such as IELTS, TOEIC, or TOEFL.

Obtaining credits

→ Students participating in an ERASMUS study semester must validate the ECTS credits at their host institution. Upon returning, they are required to submit proof of their ECTS credit validation to ENSAD Dijon’s pedagogical secretary in order to have their semester officially recognized.

→ Students who complete an Erasmus+ internship (minimum of 3 months) can validate 30 ECTS credits for a semester. Upon returning, they must submit a certificate of completion, an internship report, and an evaluation from their internship supervisor to ENSAD Dijon’s academic office to have their semester validated.
