Studies

Studies organisation

The curriculum consists of a common first year for all students, followed by 2 to 4 years of specialization in either Art or Space Design. After obtaining the DNA (Bachelor’s +3 years) in three years, students can continue to pursue the DNSEP (Master’s +5 years).

The curriculum is organized into a progressive structure of two cycles over 10 semesters:
→ Cycle 1 consists of six semesters, leading to the National Diploma of Art (DNA), which grants a Bachelor’s degree (level 6) ;
→ Cycle 2 comprises four semesters, culminating in the National Superior Diploma of Plastic Expression (DNSEP), which grants a Master’s degree (level 7).

DNA (National Diploma of Art)

Year 1

The first year, common to all students at ENSAD Dijon, is generalist. It allows students to acquire a foundational knowledge base, experiment with various artistic practices, and develop a visual and critical culture to establish personal methodologies. At the end of this year, students begin to specialize by choosing an option for their second and third years: Art or Space Design.

Years 2 and 3

The next two years, focused on either Art or Space Design, lead to the presentation of the National Diploma of Art (DNA). This phase integrates specific fundamentals of the chosen option with project initiation, fostering personal experimentation and inquiry.

DNSEP (Higher National Diploma of Artistic Expression)

Year 4

The fourth year focuses primarily on mobility. Students spend their first semester studying at a partner institution abroad or participating in an internship in France or abroad. The second semester is dedicated to preparing the “mémoire” and developing a research project in anticipation of the DNSEP.

Student Mobility

Year 5

The fifth year is mainly devoted to preparing for diploma assessments. All courses offered are aimed at this goal, with the schedule primarily focused on finalizing the mémoire, the artistic project, and engaging in discussions with faculty.
