“The worker that I am, by making the decision to become an engraver, has allowed me to commit to a subject and to this respect for work that I have for myself and for the other whom I observe. This has stabilized me and limited me in the line, which does not prevent me from mastering color. The act of engraving signifies a subtraction of material, where we deteriorate and wound the surface. This wound elevates the material; it acts as a form of plastic resilience. This idea of resilience reminds me of the worker represented throughout my work, who, through repeated gestures and the learning of techniques, achieves the realization of his art, while also wounding and adapting his body to accomplish his goal.”
